Saturday, January 21st, 9am-5pm United Way Building, Winnipeg Saturday, February 4th, 9am-5pm Harvest Moon Learning Centre, Clearwater For the first time, we will be offering the Exploring Your Small Farm Dream course in a condensed format over the course of two Saturdays. If your schedule prevents you from committing to a month or more of weekly evenings, take advantage of this two-day option to decide if starting an agricultural business is right for you. Register by January 9th, 2012. Cost is 5 or 5 for two with the same farm dream. Selling Your Food Products at the Farm Gate Tuesday, January 31 - Steinbach Wednesday, February 8 - Somerset Wednesday, February 15 - Stonewall 9:30am-3pm, (includes lunch) Find out how to sell your food products successfully – right at your farm gate. This one-day workshop will help farmers and food processors gain a better understanding about how to successfully sell their food products directly from the farm gate. Topics include: laws that regulate food sales at the farm gate; safety issues for customers at your farm; consumer trends and how to capitalize on them; and first hand stories from businesses that sell at the farm gate successfully. * Iron Chef Cook-OffIron Chef Cook-Off

Localvore Iron Chef Cook-Off II The entry deadline for the second annual Localvore Iron Chef Cook-Off is less than a month away! High school students across the province (Grades 10-12) have been challenged to form teams of four and create a dish using at least three local ingredients - no experience necessary! Nine Finalists will be selected to create a dish in just one hour, and present it to our celebrity judges. Teams will be graded in areas such as teamwork, tastiness and ingredient knowledge. This year, Hot 103's Chrissy Troy and DJ Mama Cutsworth will be emceeing the event 'Iron Chef'-style, and the competition will be streamed to an expanded display area where local food samples and culinary opportunities will keep attendees entertained. Seedlings can be expensive to purchase from plant nurseries. Come and learn the basics of growing your own seedlings from scratch. This is a hands on workshop and each participant will leave with a few started seedlings. Please bring clean reusable containers to plant in. This is a FREE workshop at 823 Ellice.
